The Parish of Upper Deal and Great Mongeham has four churches, each with its own distinctive characteristics.
We are a community of Christians within the Church of England and the Diocese of Canterbury, Kent. We draw upon the Christian values of love, compassion and friendship, rejoicing in diversity and welcoming and assisting those who are on the journey of discovering Christ.
The churches within our Parish have long been central to the wider community of Kent. From the beautiful architecture to the people who make up our church community – we have always strived to encourage faith in our members and engage with our wider community.
We provide a welcoming environment for those who wish to explore their faith and rejoice in God’s name. From our weekly fellowships and Sunday School to our weekly services and pastoral care initiatives – there is always something happening in our Parish.
Come and join us for our services and events where you will be welcomed with open arms and we are most grateful for your support in keeping our beautiful churches and grounds in good repair.

Our Churches
There are four churches within the Parish of Upper Deal and Great Mongeham. They are St. Leonard’s, St. Martin’s, St. Nicholas’ and St. Richard’s.
Their stunning architecture and quiet surroundings make them an idyllic place to celebrate your love in the eyes of God, or even just a place to gather with fellow Christians and rejoice and worship.
Each church has a service every Sunday, but for full details about Communion services and other church events please check our services and times page.
For those who will be joining us for the first time, we are delighted to welcome you and promise not to overwhelm you. Sit wherever you feel comfortable and join in with the service whenever you feel comfortable. Not only is church a place in which you can connect with God, but also where you can connect and form friendships with others.
The Parish of Upper Deal and Great Mongeham is committed to serving the community of Kent wherever we can. We accept donations which help us fund community events and host volunteer groups. We are also open to listening to your ideas about how we can better serve our community!

Fellowship & Events
“Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another…” – Hebrews 10:24-25
Fellowship is an important aspect of the Christian faith and one we champion in the Parish of Upper Deal and Great Mongeham. It’s what helps us grow together to the fullness of Christ. Our fellowship groups are an opportunity to meet, learn and share, and often involve both fun and food!
As well as our weekly church services, our church doors are always open to those who wish to celebrate an important religious life event, such as Baptisms, Holy Communions, and Weddings.
Our parish offers Holy Communion services every month, which you are more than welcome to join if you would like to. For Baptisms and Weddings, however, you will need to contact our Parish Administrator, Wendy Manion, whose details can be found on our contact page.
