Set back at an unusual angle from the main road, St Nicholas’ Church is a hidden gem with a unique history. Its origins date back to the 13th century, and despite challenges over the years, it remains a delightful and much-loved place of worship.

St Nicholas’ offers a warm and intimate setting for worship, reflection, and community. Whether you’re joining us for Holy Communion or our welcoming All Age Family Worship, you’ll always find a place here.

About us

Highlights

  • Originally a 13th-century church, once with a north aisle (now replaced by a wide single roof structure)
  • A beautifully reordered chancel (2009) featuring a free-standing altar and rose-pink carpet
  • Retained 19th-century reredos, adding character and continuity
  • A fine War Memorial in the nave’s southeast corner, notable for its Lutyens-inspired brickwork design
  • Stained glass windows in the chancel, commemorating wartime damage, crafted by a Sussex firm
